Autobeat is a drum sequencer plugin powered by artificial intelligence, and it is available for free.
Axart Software has recently launched AutoBeat, a drum sequencer plugin that is compatible with both Windows and macOS operating systems. While
Artificial intelligence (AI) is currently experiencing a surge in popularity. In addition to the previously discussed free AI music generators, this technology is now being utilized for MIDI generation, audio editing, and various other purposes.
I have previous knowledge about Axart Software and their impressive mKer sequencer suite designed for the iPad. However, I was taken aback when I discovered that they also offer an AI-powered drum sequencer compatible with both Windows and Mac operating systems.
AutoBeat does offer a paid version, but the free version still provides ample opportunities for exploration. Therefore, let's delve further into the features and take a closer look.
The central aspect of Autobeat is its variety of genres that can produce drum beats. There are a total of 8 genres to choose from, including electronic styles such as house, techno, and DnB.
Additionally, there are a total of 12 tracks available for use, which should be sufficient for the majority of MIDI-based drum machines compatible with both Windows and Mac operating systems. Personally, I found it beneficial to utilize Autobeat in conjunction with Algonaut's Atlas.
Since I had already decided to utilize AI, I thought it would be wise to fully embrace it and strive for the highest level of achievement possible.
You have the option to choose the thickness, size, and strength of each design. Additionally, the randomization dial adds a touch of organized disorder to the combination.
In my experience, I discovered that setting it to approximately 25% yielded the best results. I observed that if set higher, things began to become abstract too rapidly.
The upgraded version of Autobeat enables users to transfer MIDI files to their preferred drum machine plugin. If you are comfortable with MIDI routing, then you are in for a delightful experience.
I appreciate the fact that you have the freedom to customize the mapping of things according to your workflow preferences. The interface is intuitive and easy to understand, and each of the 12 tracks has its own mute and solo options. Furthermore, you can save multiple patterns, with a total of 128 patterns being stored across 8 prompts.
If you find yourself lacking inspiration in creating percussive elements, Autobeat is a great option to try. However, I had to make some adjustments to specifically focus on the elements of my Atlas kits that I wanted to improve.
However, once I had mastered it and got the hang of it, I was able to proceed quickly and smoothly.
Autobeat can be used on both Windows and Mac computers. It is specifically designed for Apple Silicon, which is great news for users of Apple devices.
Get AutoBeat by downloading it for free or purchasing the paid version.

The software does not function properly for me and causes my Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) to freeze. As a result, I had to uninstall it due to its negative effects

When using the software Ableton, it is capable of creating MIDI files but does not produce any audio. To hear the generated music, you must assign it to a specific channel and then route the MIDI data into a different channel that contains a drum kit or virtual instrument.

Hmm, now it has completely ceased to function…
I'm sorry
Whenever I try to click on a button in FL Studio, the software immediately crashes.

This is not artificial intelligence at all, but rather just a collection of patterns.

I tested it with Ableton Live 11 on a Dell G5s Ryzen 17 with 16GB of RAM running Windows 10. I installed and opened a VST in a MIDI channel, and also loaded a Live Impulse drum application. I followed a video tutorial and discovered that I needed to route the MIDI channel to send data to the drum VST. After linking everything and pressing play, I realized there was no sound. I tried again with a different application, hoping to assign the MIDI notes to the loaded samples, but still couldn't hear anything. Ultimately, I uninstalled the software. It was quicker for me to manually load the VST3 and DLL for Speedrum Lite, load it into Live, and create my own drum notes for a "random" pattern.

The Axart website cannot be accessed anymore. This situation seems somewhat suspicious.
