Unlock Your Creativity with AutoBeat: A Powerful AI Drum Sequencer Plugin

  • by

Save 95% on the Electronic Music Bundle from Universal Audio. Additionally, there is a free AI drum sequencer plugin called Autobeat available. Axart Software has recently launched AutoBeat, a drum sequencer plugin that can be used on both Windows and macOS platforms. While there is a paid version, the free version is also accessible.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is currently a very popular topic. Previously, we discussed the existence of AI music generators that are available for free, however, AI technology is now being utilized for various purposes such as creating MIDI files, editing audio, and many other applications.

I have previously come across Axart Software and their impressive mKer sequencer suite for the iPad. However, it was unexpected to learn that they had also developed an AI-powered drum sequencer for Windows and Mac operating systems.

Although AutoBeat offers a paid version, there is still a wide range of features available to explore in the free version. With that in mind, let's delve further into its offerings and examine them closely.

Autobeat's main feature revolves around a variety of music styles that can be used to create drum beats. There is a total of 8 genres to choose from, including popular electronic genres like house, techno, and DnB.

Additionally, there are 12 available tracks to utilize, which should be sufficient for the majority of MIDI-driven drum machines compatible with both Windows and Mac operating systems. In my personal experience, I found it convenient to use Autobeat in conjunction with Algonaut's Atlas.

Since I realized that I was using AI, I decided to fully embrace it and aim for ultimate success!

You have the option to choose the thickness, size, and strength of each design. The randomization dial also adds a touch of organized disorder to the combination.

In my experience, I discovered that setting it to approximately 25% yielded the best results. I observed that without this adjustment, things tended to quickly move towards abstraction.

With Autobeat's paid version, you have the option to export MIDI to the drum machine plugin that you prefer. If you are comfortable with routing MIDI, then you are in for a pleasant surprise.

I appreciate the flexibility of being able to customize the mapping of things according to my workflow. The interface is user-friendly and easy to understand, and there are separate mute and solo options for each of the 12 tracks. Furthermore, it is possible to save multiple patterns, with a total of 128 patterns being stored across 8 prompts.

If you're feeling stuck in your creativity when it comes to percussion sounds, Autobeat is definitely worth trying out. However, I did have to make some adjustments to specifically focus on the elements of my Atlas kits that I wanted to work on.

Once I got the hang of it, I started performing very well and making progress quickly!

Autobeat can be used on both Windows and Mac computers. It is designed specifically for Apple Silicon, which is a great feature to have.

AutoBeat can be downloaded for free or purchased at a cost.

The software does not function properly for me and causes my Digital Audio Workstation (DAW), specifically Samplitude, to freeze. It is problematic, so I have uninstalled it

When using it in the software Ableton, it creates MIDI data but does not produce any sound. To hear the sound, you must use a channel and route the MIDI data into a different channel that has a drum kit or virtual instrument (VST) loaded into it.

I'm sorry, but the

Oh no, now it has completely ceased to function

Whenever I attempt to click on any button in FL Studio, the software crashes immediately.

This is trash. It is not artificial intelligence at all, just a collection of patterns.

I tested Ableton Live 11 on a Dell G5s Ryzen 17 with 16GB of RAM running Windows 10. I installed and loaded a VST plugin in a MIDI channel, as well as a Live Impulse drum app. I followed a video tutorial and discovered that I needed to route the MIDI channel to trigger the drum VST. However, when I linked everything and played the project, there was no sound. I attempted the same process with a different app to assign MIDI notes to the loaded samples, but still encountered the same issue. As a result, I uninstalled the plugins. Instead, I found it more efficient to manually load the VST3 and DLL plugin called Speedrum Lite, load it into Live, and create my own drum notes for a "random" pattern.
