Chris Young confidently responded to online critics after having all charges dropped following his arrest last Monday.
Using social media, the singer shared surveillance footage along with a statement addressing those who criticized him for physically interacting with a law enforcement officer.
On Friday, Nashville District Attorney Glenn Funk revealed that he had completed his examination of the evidence and decided to drop the charges. The Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission had already accepted that they had urged Young to step back when he attempted to interfere with their license check.
A video, which Taste of Country has obtained, shows Young attempting to prevent an agent without displaying any signs of aggression. From one perspective, it raises doubts about whether he actually made physical contact with the man.
The singer of the song "Young Love & Saturday Nights" claims that he never made physical contact with anyone. He recently uploaded a video on his TikTok account where he addresses this incident for the first time.
"I want to address those who are criticizing me and saying, 'You shouldn't physically engage with a police officer'… I want to clarify that I did not make any physical contact with him," he explains.
Since all charges have been dismissed, Young is no longer legally affected by the incident. He can now focus on promoting his upcoming album, Young Love & Saturday Night, which is scheduled to be released on March 22.
