The now-famous person was born on May 18, 1952, in Poteet, Texas, to parents named Doris and John Strait. During his teenage years, he developed a strong interest in news radio and the farmer's report. This fascination stemmed from his family's ownership of a large ranch and his active involvement in its operations, which made him eager to stay informed about current events.
Strait began his music career during his time as a student at Pearsall High School, where he played in a rock 'n roll band called the Stoics.
