Chris Young Clears His Name: Assault Charges Dropped and Trolls Put in Their Place

  • by

Chris Young confidently responded to his critics, referred to as "trolls," after having all charges dropped following his arrest last Monday.

The vocalist used social media to share a surveillance video and address those who accused him of wrongdoing for touching a law enforcement officer.

On Friday, the Nashville District Attorney Glenn Funk revealed that he had completed his examination of the evidence, resulting in the dismissal of charges. The Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission had acknowledged their involvement in urging Young to "maintain distance" after he attempted to intervene in their license check.

A video, which was obtained by Taste of Country, depicts Young showing very little aggression while attempting to prevent an agent from taking action. From one perspective shown in the video, it is doubtful whether Young even made physical contact with the agent.

The singer of "Young Love & Saturday Nights" claims that he did not physically contact anyone. He recently posted a video on his TikTok account where he addresses the incident publicly for the first time.

The person who wrote this message is addressing those who criticize them by saying not to physically engage with a police officer. They clarify that they did not physically touch the officer in question.

After having all charges against him dismissed, Young is no longer legally affected by the incident. He can now focus on promoting his upcoming album, Young Love & Saturday Night, which is scheduled to be released on March 22.
