Chris Young confidently responded to his critics, known as "trolls," after having all assault charges against him dropped. He demonstrated his strength and resilience following his arrest on Monday.
The vocalist used social media to share a surveillance video and address those who claimed he was at fault for touching a law enforcement officer.
On Friday, the Nashville District Attorney Glenn Funk declared that he had completed his examination of the evidence, resulting in the dismissal of charges. The Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission had previously acknowledged their role in urging Young to "create distance" after he attempted to intervene in their license check.
A video received by Taste of Country depicts Young behaving calmly and without much aggression while attempting to prevent an agent from proceeding. From one perspective, it raises doubts about whether he even made physical contact with the man.
The singer of the song "Young Love & Saturday Nights" claims that he did not physically make contact with anyone. He has recently uploaded a video on TikTok where he addresses the incident for the very first time.
"To address those individuals who are criticizing me, claiming that I shouldn't have come into contact with a police officer… I want to clarify that I did not physically touch him," he states.
Since all charges have been dismissed, Young is no longer facing any legal repercussions from the incident. He can now focus on promoting his upcoming album, Young Love & Saturday Night, which is scheduled to be released on March 22.
