Chris Young Clears His Name: Assault Charges Dropped and Trolls Shut Down

  • by

Chris Young confidently responded to his critics, commonly referred to as 'trolls', after having all charges dropped following his arrest last Monday.

The individual who sings publicly shared a video from a security camera on a social media platform, accompanied by a statement directed towards those who believed he was at fault for physically touching a law enforcement officer.

On Friday, the Nashville District Attorney Glenn Funk concluded his examination of the evidence and decided to drop the charges. Previously, the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission acknowledged that they had encouraged Young to keep his distance after he attempted to intervene in their license check.

A video, obtained by Taste of Country, depicts Young's non-aggressive behavior while attempting to prevent an agent. From one perspective, it raises doubt about whether he even made physical contact with the man.

The singer of "Young Love & Saturday Nights" claims that he did not make physical contact with anyone. He has recently posted a video on TikTok where he addresses the incident for the very first time.

"I didn't physically make contact with the police officer," he states in response to those who argue against any interaction with law enforcement.

After having all charges against him dismissed, Young is no longer facing any legal consequences related to the incident. As a result, he is expected to resume his promotional activities for his upcoming album, Young Love & Saturday Night, which is scheduled to be released on March 22.
