Chris Young Clears his Name: Assault Charges Dropped and Trolls Shut Down

  • by

Chris Young confidently addressed his critics, commonly referred to as 'trolls,' in response to the dismissal of assault charges that he faced after his arrest on Monday.

Using social media, the singer shared a surveillance video and conveyed a message to individuals who believed he was at fault for physically engaging with a law enforcement officer.

On Friday, the Nashville District Attorney Glenn Funk declared that he had completed his examination of the evidence, resulting in the dismissal of charges. The Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission had acknowledged their role in urging Young to "create distance" after he attempted to interfere in their license check.

A video acquired by Taste of Country depicts Young's calm and non-aggressive behavior as he attempts to prevent an agent from proceeding. There is doubt from one perspective regarding whether he even made physical contact with the man.

The singer of the song "Young Love & Saturday Nights" claims that he never made physical contact with anyone. He recently posted a video on TikTok where he addresses the incident publicly for the first time.

"I did not physically make contact with the police officer," he states in response to the individuals who criticize him with the comment "Don't touch a cop."

Since all charges have been dismissed, Young is no longer facing any legal consequences. He can now focus on promoting his upcoming album, Young Love & Saturday Night, which is scheduled to be released on March 22.
