Luke Combs Unveils “Category 10”: Nashville’s Newest Honky Tonk

  • by

Luke Combs recently made progress in his plan to open a bar in downtown Nashville. During a recent event on January 29th, he unveiled the name of the bar, which will be called Category 10.

The singer expresses his enthusiasm for the upcoming event in a video posted on his social media. He recorded the video backstage at the Grand Ole Opry, where he is an official member. In addition, he is partnering with the Opry Entertainment Group to open his new bar.

As you are probably aware, hurricanes are categorized on a scale from 1 to 5, with 5 being the most intense. However, we decided to create a new category called 10, which would be twice as powerful as a Category 5 hurricane

"It will be an incredible country music bar. Located in downtown Nashville, it offers a variety of food and drinks. Whether it's your favorite meal or preferred spirits, we have it all. It promises to be a great time," he enthusiastically expressed. "I am eagerly awaiting the opening of this establishment and the opportunity to see all of you there."

Although he didn't mention it in his social media announcement, the name Category 10 is reminiscent of Combs' first single, "Hurricane," which draws a comparison between unexpectedly encountering an ex and the destructive force of a natural disaster. "Hurricane" was released in 2016 and marked Combs' first song to reach the top of the charts. This success sparked a remarkable series of No. 1 hits for Combs that has continued up until now, with all 17 of his official radio singles reaching the pinnacle of the country charts.

In April 2023, Combs revealed information about his bar in Nashville. He is among a group of famous artists who have invested in popular establishments in the downtown area. Category 10 is the latest addition to this list, which already includes Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert, Dierks Bentley, and numerous others.
