Morgan Wallen’s Journey from ‘The Voice’ Audition to Country Music Stardom

  • by

Do you recall Morgan Wallen's audition on 'The Voice'? Back in 2014, Morgan Wallen was a country boy with long hair, working as a landscaper. However, his life took a dramatic turn after he decided to audition for the singing competition show.

Wallen made his way onto the stage dressed in a gray button-up shirt, a black jacket, and a black tie, which was quite a departure from his usual appearance that his fans are familiar with. He opted to perform "Collide" by Howie Day, a song that suited his deep, rough voice exceptionally well.

Shakira quickly rotated her chair, although it took a while before any of the other coaches decided to press their red button. Eventually, Usher pressed his button, however Blake Shelton and Adam Levine chose not to take a risk on Wallen.

Usher and Shakira were highly impressed with the distinctive quality of his voice, affirming that there was no other voice quite like his on the show or in the music industry. Following their enthusiastic endorsements, Wallen ultimately chose Usher as his coach.

The singer who performed "Everything I Love" was later transferred from Team Usher to Team Adam to continue his journey in the competition after the second round. He successfully reached the playoffs but unfortunately got eliminated.

He explained to Billboard that there are certain aspects in life that we cannot control. However, he emphasized that striving to be the best version of oneself is within our control. He admitted that he didn't feel like he had given his best performance and recognized that he could have done better. As a result, he decided to put in more effort and practice harder.

In the present day, Wallen has become a prominent figure in the country music industry. He is currently focused on creating his fourth studio album and getting ready for the 2024 portion of his One Night at a Time Tour, which will begin again in April.
