Brave Woman Clings to Moving Car in Daring Rescue Attempt to Save Stolen Dog

  • by

In Los Angeles, California, a courageous woman went to great lengths to rescue her beloved French bulldog from a thief.

On January 18, an incident occurred outside a Whole Foods supermarket where a woman came up to Ali Zacharias, who was walking her dog, and forcefully took the animal away from her.

The woman transported Onyx, her dog, to a white car that was being operated by another individual.

Fearlessly, Zacharias was determined to prevent the thieves from escaping with Onyx. He leaped onto the front of the vehicle and held on tightly as it raced through a crowded street in Los Angeles.

Zacharias recounted the incident to CBS News, stating that he was determined not to release his grip on the car and clung onto the windshield wipers. He found himself in a state of panic as the car continued to drive down the street and increase in speed.

There is a viral video circulating online that captures the incident, in which Zacharias can be seen clinging onto the car's hood.

Zacharias recounted the incident to NBC News in a TikTok video, explaining that when he tugged on the leash, she initially thought he just wanted to go smell something, so she let go. However, she then noticed a woman holding him and walking away. Determined to retrieve her dog, she positioned herself in front of the car and firmly told the woman that she couldn't leave because she had her dog. The occupants of the car proceeded to drive towards her, causing her to fall onto the hood. Despite this, she refused to back down and insisted that she wouldn't leave until they returned her dog. Eventually, they drove away, leaving her in distress.

Regrettably, Zacharias' brave attempt to save her cute little dog was unsuccessful. She managed to hold on for a short distance, but the car suddenly changed direction and caused her to be thrown off, resulting in only minor injuries like cuts and bruises. However, Onyx, her dog, is still nowhere to be found.

"I feel a sense of sadness whenever I engage in any activity, as I am reminded that Onyx is not here to experience it with me. Even when I go grocery shopping, I can't help but think about how I'm not buying anything for him. It's astonishing how quickly time has passed since his absence. It feels like this just occurred, and yet it has already been 10 days," she expressed.

The Los Angeles Police Department is currently engaged in a thorough investigation of the crime, which involves the examination of security footage, as reported by CBS.
