There is a popular video circulating online that captures the incident, where Zacharias can be seen clinging onto the car's hood.

Zacharias recounted the incident to NBC News in a TikTok video, explaining that when he tugged on the leash, she initially assumed he wanted to go sniff something and so she let go. However, she soon noticed a woman grabbing hold of him and walking away. In an attempt to stop them from leaving with her dog, she positioned herself in front of their car and firmly informed them that they couldn't go. Instead of complying, they proceeded to drive towards her, ultimately causing her to fall onto the hood of their vehicle. Despite the fall, she remained determined and declared that she wouldn't leave until they returned her dog. As they drove away, she clung onto the car.

Regrettably, Zacharias' brave attempt to save her cute dog was unsuccessful. She managed to hold on for a short distance before the car abruptly turned and caused her to be thrown off, resulting in minor injuries like cuts and bruises. As of now, Onyx is still not found.

"No matter what I'm doing, it makes me feel sad that I can't do it with Onyx or that he's not able to experience it. It feels like this just happened, but it's already been 10 days," she expressed.

The crime is currently being investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department, who are actively looking into it and analyzing security footage as part of their investigation.
