Brave Woman Hangs onto Moving Car in Desperate Attempt to Save Stolen Dog

  • by

In Los Angeles, California, a woman displayed immense bravery by holding on to the hood of a moving car after a thief stole her cherished French bulldog.

On January 18, an incident occurred outside a Whole Foods supermarket where a woman came up to Ali Zacharias, who was walking her dog, and abruptly took her pet away.

The woman picked up the dog named Onyx and brought it to a white car that was being driven by another person.

With great bravery, Zacharias was determined to prevent the thieves from escaping with Onyx. He leapt onto the car's hood and held on tightly as it raced through a crowded street in Los Angeles.

Zacharias recounted the incident to CBS News, stating that he was determined not to release his grip on the car and clung onto the windshield wipers. Without realizing it, they began driving down the street, gradually gaining speed, which caused Zacharias to panic and fear for his life.

The incident was captured on video and has gained widespread attention online, with the footage showing Zacharias clinging to the car's hood.

Zacharias recounted her experience to NBC News through a TikTok video, describing how she initially thought her dog wanted to go smell something when he pulled the leash. Believing it was harmless, she let go of the leash. However, to her surprise, she looked up and saw a woman holding her dog and walking away with him. Determined to retrieve her pet, Zacharias positioned herself in front of the car and firmly stated that they could not leave as they had her dog. The individuals in the car then proceeded to drive towards her, ultimately causing her to fall onto the hood. Despite the fall, Zacharias remained determined and asserted that she would not leave until her dog was returned. The car then drove away, leaving her in distress.

Regrettably, Zacharias' brave attempt to save her cute dog was unsuccessful. She managed to hold on for a short distance before the car abruptly changed direction, causing her to fall off and sustain minor injuries like cuts and bruises. Sadly, Onyx, her dog, is still not found.

"No matter what I'm doing, I feel upset that I can't do it with Onyx or that he's not able to experience it. Like when I'm grocery shopping, I realize that I'm not getting anything for him, and it's surprising how fast time has flown by. It feels like this just happened, and yet it's already been 10 days," she expressed.

The crime being investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department is currently under active investigation, with the authorities looking into security footage as part of their efforts.
