Courageous Woman Clings to Moving Car in Desperate Attempt to Save Stolen Beloved Dog

  • by

In Los Angeles, California, a courageous woman went to great lengths to protect her cherished French bulldog after it was snatched by a thief.

On January 18, an incident occurred outside a Whole Foods store where a woman took a dog belonging to Ali Zacharias without permission.

The woman held Onyx, her dog, and took him to a white car where someone else was driving.

With great bravery, Zacharias was determined to stop the thieves from escaping with Onyx. He leapt onto the car's hood and held on tightly as it raced through a crowded street in Los Angeles.

Zacharias recounted the incident to CBS News, stating that he firmly held onto the windshield wipers and refused to let go of the car. Without realizing it, the car began to drive down the street at an increasing speed, causing Zacharias to panic and fear for his life.

Zacharias clinging onto the car's hood can be seen in a widely shared video of the event.

Zacharias recounted the incident in a TikTok video, explaining that when her dog pulled the leash, she assumed he simply wanted to sniff something and let go. However, she soon realized that a woman had taken hold of her dog and was walking away with him. Determined to retrieve her dog, Zacharias positioned herself in front of the car and firmly told the woman that she couldn't leave as she had her dog. Instead of stopping, the car drove into her, causing her to fall onto the hood. Undeterred, she remained on the hood and asserted that she wouldn't leave until her dog was returned. The car then began to drive away.

Regrettably, Zacharias' brave attempt to save her cute dog was not successful. She managed to hold on for a short distance before the car suddenly changed direction, causing her to be thrown off and resulting in minor injuries like cuts and bruises. Unfortunately, Onyx is still nowhere to be found.

"No matter what I'm doing, I can't help but feel sad that I'm not doing it with Onyx or that he's not able to experience it. For example, when I'm grocery shopping, I can't help but think that I'm not buying anything for him. It feels like time has passed by so quickly. It's as if this just happened, and yet it's already been 10 days," she expressed.

The crime is currently being investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department, who are actively looking into it and also examining security footage.
