The Future of CMA Fest: How the New Nissan Stadium Will Change the Country Music Experience

  • by

In the coming years, CMA Fest is expected to undergo significant changes due to the upcoming construction of a new stadium for the Tennessee Titans.

After being the location for the festival's main shows for a few years, the current Nissan Stadium will be replaced by a new venue where the shows will be held once it is finished.

According to the Country Music Association, they intend to maintain their collaboration with the Tennessee Titans annually during the CMA Fest event. They are excited about hosting country music enthusiasts in Nashville for the evening concerts, which will take place in the recently constructed stadium.

The upcoming stadium, appropriately called the New Nissan Stadium, is planned to be constructed on the eastern side of the current Nissan Stadium, situated along the East Bank of the Cumberland River. The construction work will commence this year, and the stadium is expected to be ready for use by 2027.

Fans of country music can still reach the New Nissan Stadium from downtown Nashville by using the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge.

The new stadium that the Titans will move to is different from their current home. Instead of being open, it will be an indoor facility designed to provide fans with an enhanced experience. It will offer sweeping views of Nashville, have a see-through roof, and include a large community area spanning 12,000 square feet that can be utilized throughout the year.

CMA Fest, originally known as Fan Fair, is a remarkable event for country music enthusiasts. It first took place in 1972 at the Municipal Auditorium in Nashville, with only 5,000 fans attending. Over the years, it has evolved into one of the largest annual gatherings in the country music industry. People from various parts of the world come together in Music City to witness over 250 performances by different artists across nine stages.
