In the near future, CMA Fest is expected to undergo significant changes due to the upcoming construction of a new stadium for the Tennessee Titans.
After being the location for the festival's main shows for a number of years, the current Nissan Stadium will be replaced by a new venue where the shows will be held once it is finished.
According to the Country Music Association, their future plans involve collaborating with the Tennessee Titans annually during CMA Fest. They are excited about hosting country music fans in Nashville for the nightly concerts that will take place in the newly built stadium.
A brand new stadium, appropriately called the New Nissan Stadium, will be constructed on the East Bank of the Cumberland River, situated just east of the current Nissan Stadium. The construction is planned to commence this year, and the stadium is expected to be ready for opening in 2027.
Fans of country music will still have the ability to reach the New Nissan Stadium from downtown Nashville by utilizing the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge.
In contrast to the Titans' present stadium, the upcoming location will be a closed-off facility specifically designed to enhance the fan experience. It will offer breathtaking views of Nashville, feature a see-through roof, and provide 12,000 square feet of communal space that can be utilized throughout the year.
CMA Fest is a highly anticipated event for country music fans, known as the "Ultimate Country Music Fan Experience." It was first introduced in 1972 under the name Fan Fair. Initially, it attracted 5,000 fans who gathered at the Municipal Auditorium in Nashville. Over the years, it has grown exponentially and has become one of the largest annual events in the country music industry. Now, tens of thousands of attendees from around the world come together in Music City to enjoy performances from over 250 artists on nine distinct stages.
