Woman Clings to Hood of Moving Car in Heroic Attempt to Save Stolen Dog

  • by

In Los Angeles, California, a brave woman went to extreme lengths to rescue her cherished French bulldog from a thief.

On January 18, there was an incident that took place outside of a Whole Foods supermarket. During this incident, an unidentified woman approached Ali Zacharias, who was walking her dog, and forcefully took the pet

The woman picked up Onyx, the dog, and took him to a white car that was being driven by another person.

Fearlessly, Zacharias was determined to stop the thieves from escaping with Onyx. He leapt onto the car's hood and held on tightly as it raced through a bustling street in Los Angeles.

Zacharias stated to CBS News that he firmly decided not to release his grip on the windshield wipers of the car. He soon realized that they were driving down the street and accelerating rapidly, which caused him to panic and fear for his life.

A video capturing the incident has gained widespread attention as it shows Zacharias gripping onto the car's hood.

Zacharias described the incident in a TikTok video, explaining that when the man pulled the leash, she thought he just wanted to let their dog go smell something, so she released the leash. However, she then noticed that a woman had grabbed the dog and was walking away with him. In an attempt to stop them, Zacharias stood in front of their car and firmly told them that they couldn't leave because they had her dog. Instead of stopping, they drove into her, causing her to fall onto the hood of their car. Despite this, she refused to give up and insisted that she wouldn't leave until they returned her dog. Eventually, they continued driving away.

Regrettably, Zacharias' brave attempt to save her cute dog was unsuccessful. She managed to hold on for a short distance before the car suddenly veered, causing her to be thrown off and sustain minor injuries like cuts and bruises. Unfortunately, Onyx is still not found.

No matter what I am doing, I feel a sense of sadness that I am not able to do it with Onyx or that he is not able to experience it. For example, when I am grocery shopping, I can't help but think that I am not buying anything for him. It's amazing how quickly time has passed. It feels like this just occurred, and yet it has already been 10 days," she expressed.

As per CBS, the Los Angeles Police Department is currently engaged in an investigation of the crime, which involves examining security footage.
