Woman Fearlessly Clings to Moving Car in Desperate Attempt to Rescue Stolen Beloved Dog

  • by

In Los Angeles, California, a woman went to great lengths to rescue her cherished French bulldog from a thief.

On January 18, an incident occurred outside a Whole Foods supermarket where a woman approached Ali Zacharias, who owns a dog, and forcefully took the pet away from her.

The woman lifted the dog, whose name was Onyx, and brought it to a white car that was being driven by another person.

Fearlessly, Zacharias was determined to prevent the thieves from escaping with Onyx. He courageously leapt onto the car's hood and tightly held on as it raced through a crowded street in Los Angeles.

Zacharias recounted the intense moment when he refused to release his grip on the car's windshield wipers, determined not to let go. As the car accelerated and they continued driving down the street, Zacharias found himself overwhelmed with fear for his own safety. This terrifying experience was shared by Zacharias during an interview with CBS News.

A viral video has been circulating, capturing the incident in which Zacharias was seen clinging onto the car's hood.

Zacharias recounted the incident to NBC News in a TikTok video, explaining that when he tugged on the leash, she initially thought he wanted to go smell something, so she let go. However, she soon noticed that a woman had taken hold of her dog and was walking away with him. Determined not to let them leave, Zacharias positioned herself in front of their car and insisted that they couldn't go because they had her dog. Instead of stopping, the individuals drove into her, causing her to fall onto the hood of their vehicle. Undeterred, she remained on the hood and repeated that she wouldn't leave until they returned her dog. Eventually, they drove away.

Regrettably, Zacharias' brave attempt to save her beloved puppy was unsuccessful. She managed to hold on for a short distance, but the car suddenly changed direction, causing her to be thrown off and resulting in minor injuries such as cuts and bruises. However, Onyx, the puppy, is still nowhere to be found.

"I feel a sense of sadness whenever I engage in any activity because I realize that Onyx is not here with me or experiencing it. Even when I go grocery shopping, I find myself thinking that I'm not purchasing anything for him. It's astonishing how fast time has passed since this feeling started. It feels like it just occurred, and yet it's already been 10 days," she expressed.

The crime is currently being investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department, as reported by CBS. This investigation involves the examination of security footage.
