Woman’s Brave Act: Clinging to Moving Car to Save Stolen Beloved Dog

  • by

In Los Angeles, California, a woman bravely held onto the hood of a moving car in order to rescue her cherished French bulldog from a thief.

On January 18, an incident took place outside of a Whole Foods supermarket where a woman approached Ali Zacharias, who was with her dog, and suddenly took the pet away from her.

The woman transported Onyx, a dog, to a white car that was being driven by another individual.

Fearlessly, Zacharias was determined to prevent the thieves from escaping with Onyx. He bravely leaped onto the car's hood and held on tightly as it raced down a bustling street in Los Angeles.

Zacharias recounted the incident to CBS News, explaining that he was determined not to release his grip on the windshield wipers. As they continued driving down the street, their speed increased, and Zacharias became terrified for his safety.

A viral video capturing the incident also features Zacharias clinging onto the car's hood.

Zacharias recounted the incident to NBC News through a TikTok video, explaining that when he tugged on the leash, she initially thought he wanted to sniff something, so she let go. However, she then noticed a woman holding her dog and walking away with him. In an attempt to prevent them from leaving, Zacharias positioned herself in front of their car and firmly stated that they could not leave because they had her dog. Despite her efforts, the individuals in the car drove into her, causing her to fall onto their hood. Undeterred, she remained on the hood and insisted that she would not leave until they returned her dog. Eventually, they drove away while she clung onto the car.

Regrettably, Zacharias' brave attempt to save her cute dog was not successful. She managed to hold on for a short distance before the car suddenly changed direction, causing her to fall off and sustain minor injuries. Unfortunately, Onyx, her dog, is still nowhere to be found.

"No matter what activity I am engaged in, I feel a sense of sadness because I am not able to do it with Onyx or because he is missing out on it. For example, when I go grocery shopping, I can't help but think that I am not buying anything for him. It's astonishing how quickly time has passed. It feels like this situation occurred just recently, and yet it has already been 10 days," she expressed.

The crime is currently being investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department, as they are actively looking into it and also reviewing security footage as part of their investigation
