  • by

In Los Angeles, California, a woman displayed bravery and determination in her efforts to rescue her cherished French bulldog from a thief.

On January 18, an incident took place outside a Whole Foods supermarket when a woman approached Ali Zacharias, the owner of a dog, and forcefully took the pet away.

The woman held Onyx, her dog, and walked towards a white car where someone else was driving.

Fearlessly, Zacharias was determined to stop the thieves from escaping with Onyx. He leaped onto the car's hood and held on tightly as it raced through a bustling street in Los Angeles.

Zacharias recounted the incident to CBS News, stating that he was determined to not release his grip on the windshield wipers. He found himself in a situation where the car was accelerating and driving down the street, causing him to feel extreme fear for his life.

There is also a viral video circulating online that captures the incident, in which Zacharias can be seen gripping onto the car's hood.

Zacharias recounted the incident in a TikTok video, explaining that when her dog pulled the leash, she initially thought he wanted to go smell something, so she let go. However, to her surprise, a woman grabbed hold of her dog and began walking away with him. Determined to retrieve her beloved pet, Zacharias positioned herself in front of the car and firmly told the woman that she couldn't leave because she had her dog. Instead of complying, the individuals in the car continued to drive towards her, causing her to fall onto the hood of the vehicle. Even in this precarious position, Zacharias refused to give up and declared that she wouldn't leave until her dog was returned to her. Despite her efforts, the car eventually drove away, taking her dog with them.

Regrettably, Zacharias' brave attempt to save her cute dog was unsuccessful. She managed to hold on for a short distance before the car suddenly changed direction and caused her to fall off, resulting in minor injuries like cuts and bruises. Unfortunately, Onyx, her dog, is still nowhere to be found.

"I feel a sense of sadness whenever I engage in any activity because I wish I could do it with Onyx or that he could be a part of it. For example, when I go grocery shopping, I can't help but think that I'm not buying anything for him. Time has passed by so fast, it feels like this situation just occurred, but it's already been 10 days," she expressed.

Based on a report by CBS, the Los Angeles Police Department is currently engaged in a thorough investigation of the crime, which involves examining security footage as part
