In Los Angeles, California, a brave woman went to extreme lengths to rescue her cherished French bulldog from a thief.
On January 18, an incident occurred outside a Whole Foods supermarket where a woman came up to Ali Zacharias, who was a dog owner, and forcefully took her pet.
The woman transported the dog, called Onyx, to a white vehicle that was being operated by another person.
Bravely, Zacharias refused to let the thieves escape after stealing Onyx. She leaped onto the car's hood and held on tightly as it raced down a crowded street in L.A.

According to Zacharias, he was determined not to release his grip on the car and tightly held onto the windshield wipers. Without realizing it, they started driving down the street and gaining speed, causing him to panic and fear for his life. This account was shared with CBS News.
Zacharias was caught on video clinging to the car's hood during the incident, and this video has become widely shared on the internet.
Zacharias recounted the incident to NBC News through a TikTok video, explaining that when her dog pulled on the leash, she initially thought he just wanted to go sniff something, so she let go. However, she soon realized that a woman had grabbed her dog and was walking away with him. In an attempt to stop them from leaving, Zacharias positioned herself in front of their car and insisted that they couldn't go because they had her dog. Despite her efforts, they continued to drive towards her, causing her to fall onto the hood of their car. Even in this situation, she remained determined and declared that she wouldn't leave without her dog. Eventually, they drove away, leaving her empty-handed.
Regrettably, Zacharias' brave attempt to save her cute puppy was not successful. She managed to hold on for a short distance before the car suddenly changed direction, causing her to be thrown off and resulting in minor injuries such as cuts and bruises. Sadly, Onyx is still nowhere to be found.
"I feel a sense of sadness when I realize that I am not able to share my activities with Onyx or that he is not able to experience them. For example, when I go grocery shopping, I think about how I am not buying anything for him. It's surprising how quickly time has passed. It feels like this situation just occurred, and yet it has already been 10 days," she expressed.
As per CBS, the Los Angeles Police Department is currently engaged in an active investigation into the crime, which involves examining security footage as part of their efforts
