Woman’s Courageous Act: Clinging to Moving Car to Save Stolen Beloved Dog

  • by

In Los Angeles, California, a woman bravely held on to the hood of a moving car after a thief stole her cherished French bulldog.

On January 18th, an incident occurred outside a Whole Foods supermarket where a woman approached Ali Zacharias, who was walking her dog, and forcefully took the pet away.

The woman lifted Onyx, the dog, and took him to a white car that was being driven by another person.

Fearlessly, Zacharias was determined to prevent the thieves from escaping with Onyx. Without hesitation, she leapt onto the car's hood and held on tightly as it raced through a crowded street in Los Angeles.

Zacharias recounted the incident to CBS News, explaining that when the car started moving, he firmly gripped the windshield wipers and refused to let go. As they continued driving down the street and gaining speed, he became terrified for his life.

A video capturing the incident has also become extremely popular, displaying Zacharias gripping onto the vehicle's hood.

Zacharias recounts the incident in a TikTok video to NBC News, explaining that when her dog pulled the leash, she assumed he just wanted to smell something and let go. However, she looked up to see a woman holding her dog and walking away. Determined to retrieve her dog, Zacharias stood in front of the car and told the woman that she couldn't leave because she had her dog. The individuals in the car ignored her and continued driving, even driving into her until she fell onto the hood of their car. Despite this, Zacharias persisted and declared that she wouldn't leave until they returned her dog. Eventually, they drove off, leaving her without her beloved pet.

Regrettably, Zacharias' brave attempts to save her cute puppy were unsuccessful. She managed to hold on for a short distance, but the car suddenly changed direction, causing her to be thrown off and resulting in minor injuries like cuts and bruises. Unfortunately, Onyx, the puppy, is still not found.

"I feel a sense of sadness while I engage in various activities, as I wish I could involve Onyx or that he could experience them too. For instance, when I go grocery shopping, I can't help but think that I'm not purchasing anything for him. It's astonishing how swiftly time has passed; it feels like this situation occurred just recently. However, it's already been 10 days," she expressed.

As per CBS reports, the Los Angeles Police Department is currently engaged in an active investigation of the crime, which involves the examination of security footage.
