Woman’s Daring Act: Clinging to Moving Car in Desperate Attempt to Save Stolen Dog

  • by

In Los Angeles, California, a woman bravely held onto the hood of a moving car in a courageous attempt to rescue her cherished French bulldog after it was stolen by a thief.

On January 18, an incident took place outside a Whole Foods supermarket where a woman approached Ali Zacharias, the owner of a dog, and forcefully took her pet away.

The woman picked up the dog, called Onyx, and brought it over to a white car which was being driven by another person.

With great courage, Zacharias was determined to prevent the thieves from escaping with Onyx. He bravely leaped onto the car's hood and held on tightly as it raced through a crowded street in Los Angeles.

Zacharias recounted the incident where he bravely clung onto the windshield wipers, determined not to let go of the car. The situation escalated quickly as the car began to accelerate, causing him to panic and fear for his life. Zacharias shared this terrifying experience with CBS News.

A video capturing the incident has gained widespread attention, as it displays Zacharias clinging onto the car's hood.

Zacharias recounted the incident to NBC News in a TikTok video, explaining that when he tugged on the leash, she initially thought he just wanted to go smell something, so she let go. However, when she looked up, she saw a woman holding her dog and walking away with him. Determined to get her dog back, she positioned herself in front of the car and firmly stated that they couldn't leave because they had her dog. Instead of stopping, the car continued driving towards her, eventually causing her to fall onto the hood. Even after falling, she remained determined and declared that she wouldn't leave until they returned her dog. Despite her pleas, they still drove away.

Regrettably, Zacharias' brave attempts to save her cute puppy were unsuccessful. She managed to hold on for a short distance before the car suddenly changed direction and caused her to fall off, resulting in minor injuries such as cuts and bruises. Sadly, Onyx is still not found.

"I feel a sense of sadness whenever I engage in any activity, as I am reminded that Onyx is not here to experience it with me. Even something as simple as grocery shopping makes me realize that I am not buying anything for him. Time has passed by so quickly, it feels like this situation just occurred. And yet, it has already been 10 days," she expressed.

The Los Angeles Police Department is currently conducting a thorough investigation into the crime, which involves the examination of security footage, as reported by CBS.
