  • by

In Los Angeles, California, a woman bravely held on to the hood of a moving car in order to rescue her cherished French bulldog from a thief.

On January 18, an incident occurred outside a Whole Foods supermarket wherein a woman approached Ali Zacharias, the owner of a dog, and forcefully took her pet away.

The woman picked up Onyx, her dog, and took him to a white car where another person was waiting to drive.

Fearlessly, Zacharias was determined to stop the thieves from escaping with Onyx. He bravely leaped onto the car's hood and held on tightly as it raced down a crowded street in Los Angeles.

According to Zacharias, he expressed his determination to not release his grip on the car by saying, "I'm not letting this car go." He held onto the windshield wipers and soon realized that they were driving down the street and gaining speed, which caused him to become extremely frightened for his life. This account was shared with CBS News.

Zacharias hanging onto the car's hood has been captured in a viral video of the incident.

Zacharias shared her experience in a TikTok video, recounting how she initially thought her dog wanted to explore something when he pulled the leash. Assuming he would return shortly, she let go of the leash. To her surprise, she noticed a woman holding her dog and walking away with him. Determined to get her dog back, Zacharias positioned herself in front of the car and firmly stated that the person couldn't leave with her dog. Instead of stopping, the individuals drove into her, causing her to fall onto the hood of their car. Despite the fall, Zacharias refused to give up and declared that she would not leave until they returned her dog. Unfortunately, the individuals ignored her pleas and drove away.

Regrettably, Zacharias' brave attempt to save his cute dog was unsuccessful. He managed to hold on for a short distance, but the car suddenly veered, causing him to fall off and sustain minor injuries like cuts and bruises. Unfortunately, Onyx, the dog, is still nowhere to be found.

"No matter what I'm doing, it saddens me that I can't do it with Onyx or that he's not experiencing it. For instance, when I go grocery shopping, I realize that I'm not buying anything for him. It's astonishing how time has passed so swiftly. It feels like this just occurred, but it's already been 10 days," she expressed.

The crime is currently being investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department, who are actively looking into it and reviewing security footage as part of their investigation, as
