Woman’s Heroic Act: Clinging to Moving Car to Save Beloved Stolen Dog

  • by

In Los Angeles, California, a woman displayed immense bravery as she held onto the hood of a moving car in order to rescue her cherished French bulldog from a thief.

On January 18, an incident took place outside a Whole Foods supermarket where a woman approached Ali Zacharias, who was walking her dog, and abruptly took the pet away from her.

The woman transported the dog, whose name was Onyx, to a white car that was being driven by another person.

With great bravery, Zacharias was determined to prevent the thieves from escaping with Onyx. Without hesitation, she leaped onto the car's hood and held on tightly as it raced through the bustling streets of Los Angeles.

Zacharias recounted the incident to CBS News, stating that he was determined not to release his grip on the car and held onto the windshield wipers. Without realizing it, they started driving down the street at an increasing speed, which caused Zacharias to become extremely frightened for his life.

A video capturing the event has also become widely popular, revealing Zacharias gripping onto the vehicle's hood.

Zacharias recounted the incident to NBC News through a TikTok video, explaining that when her dog pulled the leash, she assumed he wanted to sniff something, so she let go. However, she then noticed a woman holding her dog and walking away with him. In an attempt to prevent them from leaving, she positioned herself in front of their car and insisted that they couldn't leave because they had her dog. Despite her protests, they continued to drive towards her, causing her to fall onto the hood of their car. Determined to retrieve her dog, Zacharias refused to leave and stated that she would stay until they returned her pet. Eventually, they drove away, leaving her without her dog.

Regrettably, Zacharias' brave attempt to save his cute dog was unsuccessful. He managed to hold on for a short distance before the car suddenly changed direction, causing him to fall off. As a result, he sustained some minor injuries such as cuts and bruises. However, the dog named Onyx is still nowhere to be found.

No matter what I am doing, I feel a sense of sadness because I am not able to do it with Onyx or because he is not able to experience it. For instance, when I go grocery shopping, I can't help but think that I am not buying anything for him. It's surprising how quickly time has passed. It feels like this situation just occurred, but in reality, it has already been 10 days.

As per CBS, the Los Angeles Police Department is currently engaged in an investigation of the incident, which involves examining security footage.
