  • by

In Los Angeles, California, a courageous woman went to extreme lengths to protect her cherished French bulldog from a thief.

On January 18, there was an incident that took place outside a Whole Foods supermarket. During this incident, a woman approached Ali Zacharias, who was the owner of a dog, and abruptly took the pet

The woman picked up Onyx, a dog, and took him to a white car where another person was driving.

Fearlessly, Zacharias was determined to prevent the thieves from escaping with Onyx. He bravely leaped onto the car's hood and held on tightly as it raced through the bustling streets of Los Angeles.

Zacharias recounted the incident to CBS News, explaining that he was determined to not release his grip on the windshield wipers of the car. As they continued driving down the street and accelerating, he began to panic, fearing for his life.

A video capturing the event has also become popular online, displaying Zacharias clutching onto the car's hood.

Zacharias recounted the incident to NBC News through a TikTok video, describing how she initially thought her dog just wanted to smell something when he pulled the leash, so she let go. However, she soon noticed that a woman had grabbed her dog and was walking away with him. Zacharias took a stand and positioned herself in front of the car, asserting that the woman couldn't leave as she had her dog. Despite her resistance, the individuals driving the car proceeded to drive into her, causing her to fall onto the hood. Undeterred, Zacharias remained steadfast and declared that she wouldn't leave until her dog was returned. Despite her efforts, the individuals eventually drove away with her dog.

Regrettably, Zacharias' brave attempt to save his cute dog was unsuccessful. He managed to hold on for a short distance before the car abruptly changed direction, causing him to be thrown off. As a result, he sustained minor injuries in the form of cuts and bruises. Sadly, Onyx, the dog, is still nowhere to be found.

"No matter what I'm doing, it makes me feel sad that I can't do it with Onyx or that he's not able to experience it. For example, when I go grocery shopping, I can't help but think that I'm not buying anything for him. It's surprising how fast time has passed. It feels like this situation occurred just recently, but it's already been 10 days," she expressed.

The Los Angeles Police Department is currently conducting a thorough investigation into the crime, which involves the examination of security footage.
