In Los Angeles, California, a brave woman went to extreme lengths to rescue her cherished French bulldog from a thief.
On January 18, an incident occurred outside a Whole Foods supermarket where a woman approached Ali Zacharias, who was walking her dog, and suddenly took the dog away from her.
The woman brought Onyx, her dog, over to a white car that was being driven by another person.
Fearlessly, Zacharias was determined to prevent the thieves from escaping with Onyx. He bravely leaped onto the car's hood and held on tightly while it raced down a bustling street in Los Angeles.

Zacharias recounted the incident to CBS News, stating that he was determined to hold onto the car and grabbed onto the windshield wipers. He described how the car started moving down the street and accelerating, causing him to feel terrified for his life.
There is a widely shared video that has gained popularity, depicting Zacharias gripping onto the car's hood during the incident.
Zacharias recounted the incident to NBC News through a TikTok video, explaining that when the person pulled the leash, she assumed they simply wanted to let the dog sniff something, so she let go. However, she was startled to see a woman holding her dog and walking away with him. Determined to retrieve her dog, Zacharias positioned herself in front of the car and insisted that they could not leave with her dog. The individuals driving the car ignored her plea and continued driving towards her, causing her to eventually fall onto the hood of their car. Despite the collision, Zacharias remained adamant and declared that she would not leave until her dog was returned to her. The individuals driving the car then proceeded to drive away.
Regrettably, Zacharias' brave attempts to save her cute puppy were unsuccessful. She managed to hold on for a short distance, but the car suddenly veered and caused her to be thrown off. As a result, she sustained minor injuries in the form of cuts and bruises. Unfortunately, Onyx, her puppy, is still nowhere to be found.
"No matter what I'm doing, I can't help but feel sad that I'm not doing it with Onyx or that he's not able to experience it. Even something as simple as grocery shopping reminds me that I'm not buying anything for him. It feels like time has flown by so fast. It's hard to believe that this happened recently, and yet it's been 10 days already," she expressed.
The Los Angeles Police Department is currently conducting an investigation into the crime, which involves the examination of security footage, as reported by CBS.
