6 Chilling Final Concerts: A Tribute to Country Music Legends

6 Haunting Last Performances: Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Daryle Singletary + More

George Jones was aware that his last concert was approaching. On the other hand, Daryle Singletary was not aware of this fact, which added an eerie quality to the song he chose to close the night with.

Following Merle Haggard's passing, a story circulated claiming that Toby Keith assisted him in gracefully exiting the stage for the last time. However, this story turned out to be false. Neither Keith nor the person who spread the misinformation were present at Haggard's final performance.

In fact, the actor W. Earl Brown was not present at the event where Keith assisted Haggard. He had only heard about it afterwards.

Taste of Country found a review of what could be Haggard's last concert and found a touching moment that deserved as much recognition as the Toby Keith hero story. This is one of six memories from his final concert shared in the video and pictures below.

The video includes John Denver's final performance, Johnny Cash's last song, and Waylon Jennings' made-for-TV farewell, creating a bittersweet experience for viewers.

We really enjoy the Singletary performance. If you know the song "Old Violin" by Johnny Paycheck, you'll recognize the influence in his performance. If you're not familiar with the song, be sure to continue watching.
