Here are six memorable last concerts from country music legends like Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, and Daryle Singletary. George Jones was aware that his performance would be his last, while Daryle Singletary was not, adding an eerie quality to the song he sang to close out the night.
Following the passing of Merle Haggard, a story circulated about Toby Keith assisting him in his final performance to maintain his dignity. However, this story turned out to be false as Keith was not present at Hag's last show, nor was the person who spread the misinformation.
In reality, the actor W. Earl Brown was not present at the event where Keith helped Haggard finish. He only found out about it after the fact.

Taste of Country found a review of what may have been Haggard's last concert and highlighted a touching moment that deserves just as much recognition as the Toby Keith hero story. This moment is one of six final concert memories shown in the video above and in pictures below.
The video includes John Denver's final performance, Johnny Cash's last song, and Waylon Jennings' made-for-TV farewell, adding to its bittersweet nature.
Our favorite performance is the one by Singletary. If you know the song "Old Violin" by Johnny Paycheck, you'll understand the impact of Singletary's rendition. If you're not familiar with the song, continue watching to see the emotion and talent on display.
