Here are six memorable last concerts from legendary artists like Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, and Daryle Singletary. George Jones was aware that his performance would be his last, while Daryle Singletary was not, adding an extra layer of emotion to the song he selected to close the show.
Following the passing of Merle Haggard, a story circulated claiming that Toby Keith had assisted him in exiting the stage with dignity during his final show. However, this story was found to be untrue as Keith was not present at Haggard's last performance, and the individual who spread the false information was also absent.
In reality, the actor W. Earl Brown was not present at the event where Keith actually assisted Haggard in finishing. He had only heard about it from others.

Taste of Country found a review of what may have been Haggard's last concert and found a special moment that deserves as much recognition as the Toby Keith hero story. This is one of six memories from his final concert, which are shared in the video above and in pictures below.
The video contains the final performances of John Denver, Johnny Cash, and Waylon Jennings, making it a poignant collection.
Our preferred performance is by Singletary. If you know the song "Old Violin" by Johnny Paycheck, you'll recognize the emotion he puts into it. If you're not familiar with it, continue watching to see for yourself.
