The last concerts of Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Daryle Singletary, and others were filled with a haunting atmosphere. George Jones was aware that his performance was his last. On the other hand, Daryle Singletary was unaware, which added an eerie feeling to the song he selected to close the night.
Following Merle Haggard's passing, a false account circulated about Toby Keith assisting him in exiting the stage gracefully before his final performance. However, this story turned out to be inaccurate as Keith was not present at Haggard's last show, nor was the individual who fabricated the tale.
In reality, the actor W. Earl Brown was not present at the event where Keith assisted Haggard. He had only heard about it secondhand.

Taste of Country uncovered a review of what appeared to be Haggard's last concert and found a touching moment that deserved recognition alongside the Toby Keith hero story. This is one of six memories from his final concert that are shared in the video and pictures below.
The video includes John Denver's final performance, Johnny Cash's last song, and Waylon Jennings' made-for-TV farewell, creating a bittersweet experience for viewers.
We really enjoy the Singletary performance. If you know the song "Old Violin" by Johnny Paycheck, you'll recognize the emotion he put into it. If you're not familiar with it, make sure to keep watching.
