6 Haunting Last Performances: Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Daryle Singletary + More
George Jones was aware that his last concert was approaching. On the other hand, Daryle Singletary was unaware of this fact, which added an extra layer of eeriness to the song he decided to close the night with.
Following Merle Haggard's passing, a story circulated about Toby Keith assisting him in exiting the stage gracefully during his last performance. However, this story was false as Keith was not present at Haggard's final show, and the individual who spread the misinformation was also not in attendance.
In reality, actor W. Earl Brown was not present at the show where Keith assisted Haggard in finishing. He only found out about it afterwards.

Taste of Country found a review of what was thought to be Haggard's last concert and found a special moment that deserved as much recognition as the Toby Keith hero story. This moment is one of six memories from the final concert, which are shared in the video and pictures below.
The video contains John Denver's final performance, Johnny Cash's last song, and Waylon Jennings' made-for-TV farewell.
We really enjoy the Singletary performance. If you know the song "Old Violin" by Johnny Paycheck, you'll recognize where he left it during the performance. If you're unfamiliar with the song, make sure to continue watching.
