Chris Young recently addressed his fans for the first time since his arrest and subsequent dropped charges. He mentioned that he is still trying to come to terms with the events of the past week, which included being charged with assault.
The singer of "Young Love & Saturday Nights" went on social media to express gratitude to friends and fans who supported him after he was in jail on the night of Jan. 22.
Chris Young has been acquitted of all charges following his arrest at a bar in Nashville.
Young expressed in the video that receiving support from friends and fans meant a lot to him, as they reassured him that they did not believe he was responsible for any of the accusations.
"It is a relief to see the charges being dropped. I wouldn't want anyone else to experience what I went through. The positive aspect was the overwhelming love and support that I received."
The event occurred at the Dawg House located in the downtown area of Nashville.
In the security camera footage, Young appears calm before he tries to get the attention of a Tennessee Alcohol Beverage Commission agent by reaching out his arm. The agent then shoves Young, causing him to stumble backwards into the bar and fall down.
"I'm still trying to make sense of the false accusations and events that occurred last week," Young mentions at the beginning of the video. Towards the end, he shares that the encouragement from fans motivated him to release a new song from his upcoming album earlier than planned.
The new album "Double Down" will be released on Friday, February 2nd, at midnight.
"Turn up the volume, savor the moment. I am grateful for you, I care for you, and I want to express my gratitude," Young expresses.
