  • by

Chris Young recently spoke to his fans for the first time since his arrest and subsequent dropping of charges. He mentioned that he is still trying to come to terms with the events of the past week, which involved being arrested on assault charges.

The singer of "Young Love & Saturday Nights" expressed gratitude on social media towards friends and fans who supported him after he was in jail on the night of Jan. 22.

Update: Chris Young has been declared innocent of all charges following his arrest at a bar in Nashville

Young expressed how much it meant to him to have friends and fans show their support and tell him that they believe in his innocence.

"It's a relief to see the charges being dropped. No one should have to experience something like that. The positive aspect was the overwhelming love and support shown."

The event occurred at the Dawg House located in the heart of Nashville's downtown area.

Surveillance footage captures Young behaving calmly and then trying to get the attention of a Tennessee Alcohol Beverage Commission agent by extending his arm. The agent reacts by pushing Young, causing him to stumble backwards into the bar and fall.

Young expressed that he is still trying to understand and deal with the false accusations and events of the past week. He mentioned in the video that the support from his fans motivated him to release a new song from his upcoming album ahead of schedule.

"Double Down" will be released this Friday, February 2nd, at midnight.

"Turn up the volume, have fun. I am grateful for you, I care for you, and I appreciate you," Young expresses.
