Chris Young recently spoke to his fans for the first time since his arrest and subsequent dropping of charges. He mentioned that he is still coming to terms with a tumultuous week that involved being arrested on assault charges.
The singer of "Young Love & Saturday Nights" posted on social media to express gratitude towards friends and fans who supported him after he was in jail on the night of Jan. 22.
Update: Chris Young has been found innocent of all charges following his arrest at a bar in Nashville
Young expressed in the video that the support from friends and fans meant a lot to him, with many reassuring him that they believed in his innocence.
"It's a relief to see the charges being dropped. I wouldn't want anyone to experience what I went through. The positive aspect was receiving so much love and support."
The event occurred at the Dawg House located in the heart of Nashville's downtown area.
In the security camera footage, Young appears to be acting calmly until he tries to grab the attention of a Tennessee Alcohol Beverage Commission agent by reaching out his arm. The agent then pushes Young, causing him to stumble backwards into the bar and ultimately fall over.
"I am still trying to come to terms with the false accusations and events that occurred in the past week," Young mentions at the beginning of the video. Towards the end, he shares that the encouragement from fans motivated him to release a new song from his upcoming album ahead of schedule.
"Double Down" will be released this Friday, February 2nd, at midnight.
"Turn up the volume and have a good time. I am grateful for you, I care about you, and I appreciate your support," Young expresses.
