Deadly Love: The Top 20 Country Songs About Women Killing Their Men

  • by

Songs about killing a romantic partner are a common theme in classic country music. While these types of songs are not as popular as they once were, there are still many great songs about men killing their female partners. Less common are songs about women killing their partners, but country music also has a good number of these songs.

We eliminated some clear choices for this list based on a few criteria. We decided to only include one song per artist, so popular country stars Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert each only have one song on the list. While songs like "Before He Cheats," "Church Bells," "White Liar," and "Kerosene" are all excellent revenge songs, they were ultimately edged out by even more popular songs.

The theme was focused enough to make the selection process more precise. Only murders with a male victim were considered for the list, which meant that songs like Ashley McBryde's "Martha Divine" were excluded. Some other notable mentions include Willie Nelson's "Red Headed Stranger" and The SteelDrivers' "If It Hadn't Been for Love," but they also did not make the final list.

Explore the collection of the most powerful and sinister songs in country music that revolve around the theme of killing a man. Take a look at our selection of the top revenge tracks and hidden gems that focus on the act of murder, particularly targeting the man in your life.
