Bryan and Pardi decided to include their families in the music video for "Cowboys and Plowboys" because the song reflects their personal backgrounds. Pardi, who is from the West Coast, portrays the cowboy while Bryan, who hails from a family of peanut farmers, takes on the role of the plowboy. The music video gives a glimpse into the lives of the two singers.
Pardi expressed that both he and Luke felt that the song was perfect for them to sing together. He mentioned that the song is about cowboys and farmers during an interview with Taste of Country Nights.
Both singers have experience involving their family members in music videos. Bryan included his wife and mother in the video for his 2020 song "One Margarita," which had a beach theme. On the other hand, Pardi featured his Australian Cattle Dog, Cowboy, in the video for his 2021 song "Tequila Little Time."
"Pardi's latest release, 'Cowboys and Plowboys', marks his first new music since his Mr. Saturday Night album in 2022, excluding a Christmas album released last year. He and his wife Summer celebrated the arrival of their daughter Presley in February, and have now revealed that they are expecting their second child, another girl, due in July."
