Inside Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd’s Divorce: Child Support, Property Division, and Moving Forward

  • by

The divorce between Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd has been officially approved by a judge.

Based on court records obtained by People magazine, the two country singers officially ended their relationship in Nashville on Tuesday (Jan. 30). This happened shortly after they had already come to an agreement on how to divide their property and handle child support in early January.

The former partners have come to an agreement regarding financial support for their child. As stated in the documents filed recently, Morris will provide $2,100 each month to Hurd, and they will both share custody of their son. They have also agreed to split their assets according to the prenuptial agreement and settlement terms.

Morris and Hurd have not shared many details about their split on social media. Morris mentioned during an interview on the Howard Stern Show in late 2023 that she is not considering dating again at the moment.

She expressed a desire for the divorce process to come to an end, as she is currently preoccupied with other things. She mentioned that she is writing a lot at the moment, using it as a way to cope and express herself, almost like a form of dating for her.

What is the story behind Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd's meeting?

Morris and Hurd started out as songwriting partners in 2013 and their relationship eventually turned romantic. They continued to collaborate and eventually got engaged in 2017, tying the knot a year later. Over the years, they frequently performed together on stage, often singing their hit duet "Chasing After You."

Both singers were signed to Sony Music Nashville before, but Morris decided to move away from mainstream country music and release her music on the label's New York imprint. Hurd is no longer listed on Sony Music Nashville's website.
