Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd have completed the legal process of ending their marriage as a judge has officially approved their divorce.
Based on court records obtained by People magazine, the two country singers officially ended their relationship in Nashville on Tuesday (Jan. 30). This came shortly after they had already agreed on how to divide their property and handle child support in early January.
The former couple has come to an agreement regarding financial support for their child. Morris will provide $2,100 each month to Hurd, and they will share custody of their son. They have also decided to divide their assets according to the prenuptial agreement and settlement terms.
Morris and Hurd have not discussed their breakup much on social media. Morris mentioned during an interview on the Howard Stern Show in late 2023 that she wasn't ready to start dating again.
"I want the divorce to be finalized soon, but I'm too preoccupied to deal with it right now," she explained. "I'm currently focused on my writing. It's like my way of connecting with others, through my songs."
What is the story behind Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd's meeting?
Morris and Hurd started off as songwriting partners in 2013, but their professional relationship turned romantic. They continued to work together and eventually got engaged in 2017, tying the knot a year later. Over the course of the decade, they frequently performed together on stage, often singing their popular duet, "Chasing After You."
Both singers were signed to Sony Music Nashville before, but Morris revealed a decision to shift away from mainstream country music and release music under the label's New York imprint. Hurd's name is no longer on Sony Music Nashville's website.
