Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd have completed their divorce process with a judge's approval.
Based on official court papers obtained by People magazine, the two country singers officially ended their relationship in Nashville on Tuesday, January 30th. This came shortly after they had already agreed on how to divide their property and handle child support in early January.
The former partners have come to an agreement regarding financial support for their child. As outlined in legal documents submitted recently, Morris will provide Hurd with $2,100 each month, and they will share custody of their son. They have also decided to divide their assets according to the terms of their prenuptial agreement and settlement.
Morris and Hurd have not shared many details about their breakup on social media. In a late 2023 interview on the Howard Stern Show, Morris mentioned that she was not considering dating again at that time.
"I want the divorce to be finalized, but I'm too busy with other things at the moment," she explained. "I'm focusing on writing a lot right now. Writing songs has been how I've been coping and expressing myself, almost like a form of dating for me."
What is the story behind Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd's meeting?
Morris and Hurd were working together as songwriters in 2013 when they started a romantic relationship. They continued to collaborate and eventually got engaged in 2017, getting married the following year. Over the course of the decade, they often performed together on stage, frequently singing their hit duet "Chasing After You."
Both singers used to be signed to Sony Music Nashville, but Morris recently revealed her decision to shift away from mainstream country music and release music on the label's New York branch after filing for divorce. Hurd is no longer included on Sony Music Nashville's website.
