Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd have completed the legal process of ending their marriage, as a judge has approved their divorce.
Based on legal papers obtained by People magazine, the two country singers officially ended their relationship in Nashville on Tuesday (Jan. 30). This occurred shortly after they had come to an agreement on how to divide their property and handle child support in early January.
The former partners have come to an agreement regarding financial support for their child. As stated in legal documents submitted recently, Morris will provide Hurd with $2,100 every month, and they will share custody of their son. They have also agreed to divide their assets according to their prenuptial agreement and settlement terms.
Morris and Hurd have not shared many details about their breakup on social media. However, during an interview on the Howard Stern Show in late 2023, Morris mentioned that she was not considering dating again at the moment.
She mentioned that she wants the divorce to be finalized soon, as she doesn't have the mental capacity to deal with it at the moment. She explained that she is currently focused on writing a lot, and for her, writing songs has become a way of expressing her emotions and experiences similar to dating.
What was the story behind Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd's introduction to each
Morris and Hurd were working together as songwriters in 2013 when they started a romantic relationship. They continued to collaborate and eventually got engaged in 2017, getting married the following year. Before their divorce, both singers were signed to Sony Music Nashville. However, Morris decided to move away from mainstream country music and will now release music on the label's New York imprint. Hurd is no longer featured on SMN's website.
