McEntire recently took part in a Hillbilly Chili Cookoff, where Linn was a judge. Despite their personal connection, it did not influence the judging process in any way.
McEntire actually finished in last place. As a result, she received a funny trophy as a prize: A chili pepper going down a toilet.
Always willing to have fun, McEntire posted a video on her social media of her attempt at a cookoff, even showing her reaction to coming in last place with grace.

In a recent appearance on CBS Mornings, McEntire talked about her unsuccessful experience at a chili cookoff and acknowledged that she has a clear understanding of what went awry.
"I forgot to add any spices," she confesses. "But I was adding chili powder and hatch green chilis, thinking it would be enough. It was a recipe from Texas that I was really looking forward to trying."
Even though Linn's position in last place remained unchanged, McEntire believes that being her girlfriend may have helped soften the disappointment when the judges announced the results.
"Rex, who was a judge, approached me and quietly revealed the news. He expressed his apologies and when I asked if he would tell me the winner, he replied that it was not me."
"After he gave me the award, I saw that it was a chili pepper inside a toilet. So I pretended that my trophy was using the bathroom," McEntire explains.
Setting aside the humor, McEntire discussed her connection with Linn and the reasons behind its success. They have been acquaintances for a long time, having first met in 1991 during the filming of The Gambler Returns starring Kenny Rogers. However, it was not until they reconnected in 2020 that romantic feelings began to develop. During this time, McEntire was previously married to her husband Narvel Blackstock, with whom she has a son named Shelby.
During a conversation with Rex, McEntire wondered why they hadn't connected sooner. Rex pointed out that one reason could be because she was previously married. McEntire describes Rex as fun and energetic, while she admits to having mellowed out. She believes they have met at the perfect time in their lives.
Following this, McEntire will be traveling to Las Vegas to perform the National Anthem at the Super Bowl. Additionally, she is working on a new comedy show that will bring her back together with some of the people who were involved in her popular TV series, Reba.
