Reba McEntire ended up in last place in a chili cookoff that was judged by Rex Linn. Despite being an adorable couple in country music, they don't hold back when competing against each other in cook-off competitions.
McEntire took part in a Hillbilly Chili Cookoff where Linn was a judge, but their friendship did not influence the judging process in any way.
McEntire actually finished in last place. She received a humorous trophy as a consolation prize: a chili pepper being flushed down a toilet.
McEntire, always taking things in stride, posted a video on her social media of her unsuccessful attempt at a cookoff, showing her gracefully accepting the last place position.

In a recent virtual appearance on CBS Mornings, McEntire talked about her unsuccessful experience at a chili cookoff and acknowledged that she has a good understanding of what went awry.
She realized that she forgot to add the spices to the dish she was making. Despite this, she added chili powder and hatch green chilis, thinking it would still turn out well. She was following a recipe from Texas and was really enthusiastic about how it would turn out.
Despite being in a relationship with Linn, it did not prevent her from ending up in last place. However, McEntire believes that her relationship status may have helped soften the disappointment when the judges announced the results.
"Rex, one of the judges, approached me and quietly revealed the news. He expressed his regret and then informed me that I did not win the competition when I asked."
"Then he gave me the award, which turned out to be a chili pepper in the toilet. So, I ended up returning the favor by doing the same," McEntire elaborates.
Putting jokes aside, McEntire discussed her strong connection with Linn and how their relationship functions smoothly. They have been acquainted for many years, meeting in 1991 during the filming of The Gambler Returns starring Kenny Rogers. However, their romantic feelings only blossomed when they reconnected in 2020. During this time, McEntire was married to her longtime spouse Narvel Blackstock, with whom she has a son named Shelby.
I once asked Rex why we didn't start dating earlier, and he mentioned that it may have been because I was previously married. McEntire describes Rex as fun and energetic, while she feels she has become more mellow. She believes they have met at the perfect time in their lives.
Following that, McEntire is going to Las Vegas to perform the National Anthem at the Super Bowl. In addition, she is working on a new sitcom that will involve reuniting with some of the individuals who collaborated on her popular TV show, Reba.
