McEntire took part in a Hillbilly Chili Cookoff, where Linn served as a judge. Despite their personal connection, it did not influence the judging process in her favor.
Surprisingly, McEntire finished in last place. As a consolation prize, she received a trophy shaped like a chili pepper being flushed down a toilet.
Always willing to have fun, McEntire posted a video on her social media of her not-so-successful cookoff experience, showing her gracefully accepting the fact that she came in last place.

In a recent appearance on CBS Mornings, Reba McEntire discussed her unsuccessful experience at a chili cookoff and acknowledged that she has a good understanding of what caused it to go wrong.
She forgot to add spices to the dish, but she added chili powder and hatch green chilis thinking it would be enough. She was following a Texas recipe and was really excited about it.
Although being Linn's girlfriend did not prevent her from ending up in last place, McEntire believes that her relationship status may have lessened the impact of the judges' announcement when they revealed the news.
Rex, who was one of the judges, approached me and quietly revealed the news. He expressed his regret, and when I asked if he would tell me the winner, he informed me that it was not me.
Then he gave me the award, which turned out to be a chili pepper inside a toilet. And that's when I realized mine was just a joke.
Putting jokes aside, McEntire also discussed her connection with Linn and the reasons behind its success. They have been acquainted for a long time, meeting in 1991 during the filming of The Gambler Returns starring Kenny Rogers. However, they did not develop romantic feelings for each other until they reconnected in 2020. In the interim, McEntire was married to her former husband Narvel Blackstock, with whom she has a son named Shelby.
During a conversation with Rex, McEntire pondered why they hadn't connected sooner. Rex pointed out that McEntire had been married previously, which may have been a factor. McEntire described Rex as fun and energetic, while noting that she has become more mellow over time. She believes that they have crossed paths at the perfect moment in their lives.
Following that, McEntire will be going to Las Vegas to perform the National Anthem at the Super Bowl. Additionally, she is working on a new comedy show that will involve reuniting with some of the crew from her popular TV show, Reba.
