Country music star Reba McEntire came in last place in a chili cookoff that was judged by her partner, actor Rex Linn. Despite being a cute couple, they didn't go easy on each other in the competition.
McEntire took part in a Hillbilly Chili Cookoff, where Linn was serving as one of the judges. Despite their personal connection, McEntire did not receive any special treatment during the judging process.
McEntire actually finished in last place. As a result, she was awarded a humorous trophy, which was a chili pepper going down a toilet.
McEntire showed her sportsmanship by posting a video on social media of her unsuccessful attempt at a cookoff, which included a moment of her gracefully accepting her position in last place.

In a recent appearance on CBS Mornings, Reba McEntire talked about her unsuccessful chili cookoff experience and acknowledged that she has a good understanding of what went awry.
"I forgot to add any spices," she confesses. "But I added chili powder and hatch green chilis, thinking it would be enough. I was following a Texas recipe and was really looking forward to it."
Although being Linn's girlfriend did not prevent her from coming in last place, McEntire believes that her relationship likely helped soften the blow when the judges announced the news.
During the competition, one of the judges named Rex quietly informed me that I did not win. He expressed his apologies and when I asked who the winner was, he revealed that it was not me.
"Then he gave me the award, which turned out to be a chili pepper in the toilet. So I ended up throwing it away," McEntire elaborates.
Aside from the humor, McEntire discussed her connection with Linn and the reasons behind its success. They have been acquainted for a long time, meeting in 1991 during the filming of The Gambler Returns. However, their romantic relationship did not begin until they reconnected in 2020. Prior to this, McEntire was married to her husband Narvel Blackstock, with whom she has a son named Shelby.
During a conversation with Rex, Reba McEntire wondered why they hadn't connected sooner. Rex mentioned that one reason could be because she was previously married. McEntire describes Rex as fun and energetic, while she has become more mellow. She believes they have crossed paths at the perfect moment in their lives.
Following this, McEntire will be going to Las Vegas to perform the National Anthem at the Super Bowl. Additionally, she is working on a new comedy series that will involve reuniting with some of the people who were part of her popular TV show, Reba.
