Country music star Reba McEntire received the last place in a chili cookoff competition that was judged by Rex Linn. Despite being a cute couple in the country music scene, Reba and Rex did not go easy on each other during the contest.
McEntire recently took part in a Hillbilly Chili Cookoff, where Linn served as one of the judges. Despite their personal relationship, McEntire did not receive any special treatment during the judging.
McEntire ended up in last place in the competition. As a result, she received a humorous trophy as a consolation prize: a chili pepper being flushed down a toilet.
McEntire, always being a good sport, posted a video on social media of her unsuccessful cookoff experience, which included a clip of her gracefully accepting the last place position.

In a recent appearance on CBS Mornings, Reba McEntire discussed her unsuccessful experience at a chili cookoff and acknowledged that she has a good understanding of what went awry.
She confessed that she forgot to add any spices to the dish, but she did add chili powder and hatch green chilis, thinking it would be enough to make it tasty. She was following a recipe from Texas and was really looking forward to the final result.
Even though Linn's relationship with McEntire didn't improve her ranking, McEntire believes that being his girlfriend may have softened the blow when the judges announced her last place position.
"Rex, who was one of the judges, approached me and quietly told me the news. He expressed his apologies and when I asked if he was going to reveal the winner, he responded by saying that unfortunately, it wasn't me."
"Then he gave me the award, which turned out to be a chili pepper inside a toilet. So, I jokingly said that mine would do the same," McEntire explains.
Setting jokes aside, McEntire also discussed her connection with Linn and the reasons behind its success. The pair have been acquainted for a long time, meeting in 1991 during the filming of The Gambler Returns movie starring Kenny Rogers. However, their romantic feelings didn't develop until they reconnected in 2020. During that time, McEntire was married to her husband Narvel Blackstock, with whom she has a son named Shelby.
I once asked Rex why we hadn't gotten together sooner, and he mentioned that one reason was because I had been married before. Rex is a fun and energetic person, while I have become more relaxed over time. It seems like we have met at the perfect moment in our lives.
Following this, McEntire will be traveling to Las Vegas to perform the National Anthem at the Super Bowl. Additionally, she is working on a new sitcom that will bring her back together with some of the individuals who collaborated on her popular TV show, Reba.
