Reba McEntire Returns to TV: Reuniting with ‘Reba’ Team for New Sitcom

Country music star Reba McEntire will be teaming up with the creators of the show "Reba" for a new sitcom. This marks her return to television.

Following her time as a coach on The Voice, Reba McEntire will be collaborating with NBC once more for a new multi-camera comedy pilot project.

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the show follows the story of McEntire's character, who unexpectedly inherits her father's restaurant. She is not happy to find out that her new business partner is actually her half-sister, whom she never knew existed.

McEntire will work with experienced showrunner Kevin Abbott, known for his work on Last Man Standing, Roseanne, and The Golden Girls.

Michael Hanel and Mindy Schultheis, who were previously executive producers on Reba, are said to be joining Reba McEntire on her upcoming NBC comedy series.

NBC has recently ordered its first pilot for 2024 after the conclusion of the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.

The singer known for the song "Fancy" made her television debut in the early 2000s with the successful sitcom Reba, which aired for six seasons from 2001 to 2007.

In the show, McEntire played the role of a mother from Texas who is dealing with the breakdown of her marriage, her husband's infidelity, and her daughter's pregnancy during her teenage years.

During 2012, McEntire was featured in the short-lived TV show Malibu Country on ABC, where she acted alongside Lily Tomlin and Sara Rue.

In 2022, she made an appearance on Season 3 of the television show Big Sky, which airs on ABC.
