Reba McEntire Returns to TV: Reuniting with ‘Reba’ Team for New Sitcom

Country music star Reba McEntire will be joining forces with the team from her previous sitcom "Reba" for a new television comedy. She is set to make her return to television.

Following her time as a coach on the TV show The Voice, McEntire is collaborating with NBC once more for a comedy pilot that has not yet been given a title.

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the show is centered on the main character played by McEntire, who inherits her father's restaurant. She is surprised and not very happy to find out that she now has a new business partner, her half-sister whom she never knew existed.

McEntire will collaborate again with experienced showrunner Kevin Abbott, known for his work on Last Man Standing, Roseanne, and The Golden Girls.

According to reports, Michael Hanel and Mindy Schultheis, who were previously executive producers on Reba, will be joining Reba McEntire on the upcoming NBC comedy series.

NBC has made its first pilot order of 2024 after the conclusion of the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.

The singer known for the song "Fancy" made her debut on television in the early 2000s with the popular sitcom Reba, which had a successful run of six seasons from 2001 to 2007.

The show featured McEntire playing the role of a mother from Texas who is dealing with the breakdown of her marriage, her husband's infidelity, and her daughter's teenage pregnancy.

Reba continues to be shown in syndication and can be watched on the Hallmark Channel at present.

McEntire appeared in the ABC show Malibu Country in 2012, but the series did not last long. Lily Tomlin and Sara Rue also starred in the show.

In 2022, she made an appearance in the third season of Big Sky on ABC.
