Super Bowl 58: The Most Expensive Ticket in History and What’s Driving the High Prices

  • by

Super Bowl 58 is expected to have the highest ticket prices ever seen in the game's history. Those looking to attend this year's Super Bowl will need to be prepared to spend a significant amount of money for a ticket.

As of Thursday, the lowest priced single ticket available was $8,000 on the ticket resale website TickPick. This ticket would provide you with a seat in the upper 300 section, but it is important to note that the website guarantees you will have a seat.

If the current prices remain stable, this Super Bowl ticket will be considered the most costly one ever sold. The record holder for the highest-priced Super Bowl ticket was the 2020 game, with an average ticket price of $6,370. One of the main factors contributing to the high price that year was the home team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, competing in the game. However, that is not the situation for this year's Super Bowl.

The upcoming Super Bowl will be the first one ever held in Las Vegas. Experts believe that this unique location is causing ticket prices to increase, as fans are eager to enjoy a weekend in Sin City and attend the world's largest sporting event.

Just so you know, the average price of a ticket to the inaugural Super Bowl was $12.

The location plays a significant role in attracting 49er fans, according to StubHub. Data from the secondary ticket selling website shows that 26 percent of ticket sales come from California, as fans prefer to make the shorter journey to support their favorite team. In contrast, only 7 percent of ticket sales on the site come from Kansas and Missouri combined.

Don't overlook the influence of Taylor Swift! Her presence at the event could attract a larger number of female fans than usual.

Regardless of how you enter, Allegiant Stadium, which has a seating capacity of 65,000, will be filled to its maximum capacity. Super Bowl 58 is scheduled to begin at 6:30PM ET on Sunday, February 11.
