Super Bowl 58: The Most Expensive Ticket in History – What’s Driving the Prices and Who’s Buying

  • by

The upcoming Super Bowl 58 is expected to have the highest ticket prices ever. If you're planning to attend, you'll need to be willing to spend a significant amount of money as it is set to break records for ticket costs.

As of Thursday, the most affordable single ticket available was priced at $8,000 on the ticket reselling website TickPick. This ticket would provide you with a seat in the upper 300 section, however, the website does specify that the purchase guarantees you a seat.

If the prices remain steady, this year's Super Bowl ticket could become the most costly in history. The previous record was set in 2020, with an average ticket price of $6,370. A key factor in the high prices that year was the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the home team, playing in the Super Bowl. However, this year, the home team is not playing, which may contribute to the high ticket prices.

The upcoming Super Bowl will be the first to take place in Las Vegas, which is causing ticket prices to increase. Experts believe this is due to fans wanting to enjoy a weekend in Sin City and finish it off with the highly-anticipated sporting event.

In case you were curious, the average price of a ticket to the inaugural Super Bowl was $12.

The location plays a significant role in attracting 49er fans, as shown by StubHub's data indicating that 26 percent of ticket sales come from California. Fans from California have the advantage of a shorter distance to travel to see their team play. In contrast, Kansas and Missouri contribute only 7 percent of ticket sales on the site.

Let's also consider the influence of Taylor Swift! Her presence at the event could attract a larger number of female fans than usual.

No matter how you manage to enter, Allegiant Stadium with 65,000 seats will be completely full. The Super Bowl 58 is scheduled to start on Sunday, February 11th, at 6:30PM Eastern Time.
